Cricket legend Saqlain Mushtaq on bowling, the doosra and coaching

Ten years have passed since Saqlain Mushtaq last played on the international stage. During his time away he became a coach and we got the chance to sit down with him after his masterclass at Barnfield South Academy on Saturday.

Young cricketers of all ages attended the sessions and the younger age group were treated to a special guest appearance from current Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal.

“We had good fun, we did a bit of the basic techniques of fast bowling, spin bowling and batting. Then we ended up having a six-a-side game,” explains the former Pakistan bowler. “The cricketers were so passionate about cricket and they all turned up here, it was quite exciting so it was a good two hours you know – an honour for me.”
